Magnify Learning's 30 Day Back to School PBL Challenge

The 30-Day Back to School PBL Challenge is a daily series of bite-sized activities designed to energize your classroom and help you launch authentic, student-centered Project-Based Learning this school year. It's flexible, fun, and built for busy educators PK–16. Whether you’re just dipping your toes into PBL or you’re a seasoned facilitator, the challenge will help you reflect, plan, and energize your practice with community support along the way.

• Challenge Begins: August 1, 2025

• Last Day to Submit: Sunday, August 31st at 11:59 PM ET

• Winners Announced: Monday, September 1st

We’ll post the daily challenge prompts in two places:

• Our Facebook Group: Magnify Learning: Real-World PBL Educators

• Our Instagram: @magnifylearning

You can participate on either platform—or both! 

However, to keep things fair, each platform will have one winner, and participants can only win on one.

If someone ends up being the top scorer on both platforms, they’ll win the prize for just one, and the next highest scorer on the other platform will receive the prize there.

No sign-up forms needed! Simply follow us on Instagram and/or join the Facebook group. Then, jump in by responding to the daily challenge posts with a comment, photo, strategy, or idea.

You earn points for each day’s participation:

• Completing the daily challenge (10–25 pts depending on the task)

• Commenting your response (+5 pts)

• Sharing a photo, resource, or strategy (+5 pts)

• Engaging with others in the group (up to +9 pts/day)

Bonus activities will also pop up for extra points!

Final Entries Due:
All challenge activity must be completed by Sunday, August 31st at 11:59 PM ET.

Winner Announcement:
We’ll reveal the final winners on Monday, September 1st—stay tuned!

Our team keeps track of participation and points on a Google Spreadsheet. We’ll share a leaderboard each week in a pinned post so you can see how you’re doing!

One winner will be selected from Facebook and one from Instagram—each based on top engagement and total points. If someone earns the top score on both platforms, they’ll win for just one, and the prize will go to the next highest scorer on the other.

Oh—and yes, there’s a grand prize involved. But we’re keeping that surprise under wraps (for now). 👀

No worries! You can complete challenges at your own pace—just make sure all your posts are in by August 31st. The more consistently you engage, the more points you’ll earn.
