STEAM and Project-Based Learning are powerful on their own—but when intentionally designed together, they create meaningful, real-world learning experiences that challenge students to think critically, solve complex problems, and engage in authentic work. Think On: STEAM & PBL is a one-day virtual conference designed to help educators, instructional coaches, and school leaders explore how STEAM can be integrated within authentic Project-Based Learning in purposeful and rigorous ways.

This experience centers on the connection between STEAM disciplines and high-quality PBL, supporting participants in designing learning environments where inquiry, innovation, and real-world problem solving drive student learning. Participants will explore how science, technology, engineering, the arts, and mathematics can work together within meaningful contexts that elevate both content and student engagement.

Throughout the day, participants will engage with practical strategies, adaptable tools, and classroom-tested resources tailored to multiple roles within a PBL ecosystem. Sessions will explore how STEAM naturally lives within inquiry, design processes, collaboration, iteration, and authentic community-connected work.

Throughout the conference, participants will explore:

• How STEAM is strengthened through authentic, real-world PBL experiences—not taught in isolation
• Ways to integrate multiple content areas to create rigorous, interdisciplinary learning
• Strategies for facilitating inquiry, design thinking, and problem-solving within PBL
• How real-world challenges and community connections elevate STEAM learning
• Practical approaches for embedding engineering, technology, and the arts into core content areas
• Tools for supporting iteration, prototyping, and revision throughout a PBL unit
• Techniques for fostering collaboration, creativity, and student agency through STEAM-focused work

Participants will also engage in sessions centered on:

• Design thinking as a structure for STEAM within PBL
• Interdisciplinary planning that authentically integrates multiple content areas
• Supporting innovation through student-centered learning environments
• School and district readiness for deeper STEAM + PBL implementation
• A keynote experience designed to ground and inspire your STEAM + PBL work

This conference is built for teachers, instructional coaches, and school leaders who are ready to move beyond isolated STEAM activities and into authentic, integrated learning experiences that reflect the complexity of the real world.

All sessions are delivered virtually and balance inspiration with implementation. Participants will receive access to session recordings and shared resources to support continued learning, reflection, and team-based application beyond the conference.
